　　在 PlayStation E3 媒體發表會最後，索尼電腦娛樂（SCE）正式公開了動作冒險遊戲《秘境探險》系列最新作《秘境探險 4：盜賊末路（暫譯，Uncharted 4: A Thief's End）》，同步公開了從 PS4 直接擷取而成的最新宣傳影片。

　　《秘境探險 4：盜賊末路》描述寶藏獵人奈森‧德瑞克（Nathan Drake）在他最後一次冒險的幾年後，他被迫回到盜賊的世界，德瑞克展開了周遊列國、尋找傳說中海盜寶藏的冒險旅程。這次將會是德瑞克最大的冒險，將挑戰他體能的極限、他對冒險的決心，還有就是他是否願意犧牲來拯救他所愛的人。　PS4《秘境探險 4：盜賊末路》由頑皮狗（Naughty Dog）開發，預定 2015 年問世。

Uncharted 4: A Thief's End on PS4 Will Make A Statement, Narrative and Gameplay Will Stand Game Art History Test of Time

Uncharted 4: A Thief's End was the stand-out announcement of Sony's E3 2014 Playstation conference. Sony showcased a gorgeous looking trailer featuring all in-game footage running at glorious 60 FPS. Naughty Dog are putting a lot of efforts in development of Uncharted 4: A Thief's End and this is clearly visible from recent update from Corrinne Yu, Coding graphics and animation for Naughty Dog on PS4 on Uncharted 4.

According to Corrinne Yu, Uncharted 4: A Thief's End will make a statement and narrative/Gameplay will stand game art history test of time. She tweeted:

"And I have faith in Uncharted 4 narrative and gameplay will stand game art history test of time and make a statement"

In her early tweet, Corrine details how demanding the working environment in gaming industry could be, via an example, that she stayed overnight at Naughty Dog's office many times while graphic coding of the head, face and shirt of Nathan Drake for Uncharted 4: A Thief's End.

"To graphics code head, face, Drake's shirt for Uncharted 4 PS4 trailer, I slept over night at ND office many times. Such is reality."

She also added that coders and programmers at Naughty Dog are working over the weekends to go past 60 FPS mark for The Last of Us on PS4.

"We are coding hard over the weekends with our Naughty Dog graphics team to push The Last of Us past 60 fps."

To this Cliff Bleszinski replied that "makes me sad y'all killed yourselves for a trade show that'll eventually fade away."
Corrine replied that currently whatever graphics coding she is doing its for Uncharted 4: A Thief's End and its deadline is 2015.

"Not really.Every graphics feature I code for deadline are for 2015 Uncharted 4 game,just will have time make better."

In addition to this, we also received an update on The Last of Us: Remastered for Playstation 4 by Christian Gyrling, Lead Programmer at Naughty Dog. Recently, Gyrling tweeted that a bug that was slowing down the performance of The Last of Us on PS4 has been identified. Today, Gyrling provided more details as to what it exactly was.

"This was actually due to a confusing API on a opaque external library. Reverse engineering for the win. #ShipIt #TheLastOfUs " tweeted Gyrling.

Uncharted 4 reportedly uses multiple models per character

Uncharted 4 is an absolutely gorgeous game to look at and that’s why we gave it the #1 spot in our Top 5 Most Amazing games of E3 2014. The gameplay trailer which when first released, led many to speculate that it was CGI, but Naughty Dog was quick to point out that everything we saw in the trailer was actually in-game running real time. The gun-totting Nathan Drake has a facial model that looks almost photo-realistic. Ever wondered why that is so? Well, wonder no more because Trevor Stricker, founder of Disco Pixel and a veteran game designer since the Dreamcast era, explained to us that,

“A main character in a cinematic game like Uncharted will also use multiple models per character, each with different levels of detail. So when the character is far from the camera and tiny on the screen it will use something with fewer polys/faster shaders. When he’s right up close to the camera it might use a high res model of only his face.”

This could well be the case as those who played UC 2&3 might remember that the game would transition between a cut-scene and then gameplay almost effortlessly. And add to that, a more powerful gaming system and you have all the right ingredients for a cinematic action adventure saga that gives life to its characters, story and gameplay. At PlayStation Experience event, Naughty Dog held a special developer panel on "Game Design" and talked about numerous topics related to it and shared some interesting new details about Nathan Drake's character model on PlayStation 4.

Naughty Dog announced that Nathan Drake on PlayStation 3 had just 120 facial animations, and now on PlayStation 4 he has 800 facial animations. The studio then went on to show some of the facial animations of Nathan Drake on PlayStation 4.
You can take a look at the them below. The character model of Nathan Drake showcased in the second video is in-game, simply Mind Blowing and only Naughty Dog can achieve such a feat, truly the best video game developer of current-gen.











Furthermore, Naughty Dog also announced that in Uncharted 4: A Thief's End, Nathan Drake's chest hair is affected by wind physics. Here are some of the interesting tidbits from the developer panel:
Naughty Dog stated that "a considerable amount of time" has passed between Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception and Uncharted 4: A Thife's End. In Uncharted 4, every single hair moves with wind and water and Hair has true physics and move around as player run. In addition to this, Nathan Dog announced that these SAME AMOUNT of details have been added to "Support Cast" also.
