CD Projekt Red appears to be working on The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, a new open-world entry in the studio's dark RPG series. Game Informer digital subscribers through Zinio can now access the March issue (seen here), which promises The Witcher 3 will take place in a world rivaling Skyrim and larger than any environments featured in the first two games.
CD Projekt's REDengine 3, which the company has said is built for the next wave of systems, will power The Witcher 3 and Geralt's distinguishing beard. According to the digital preview, The Witcher 3 is "for those wild dreamers who want it all."
We've requested further information from CD Projekt Red and will let you know when we hear (and see) more.
Update: Game Informer has published a quick video touching on the development team and the game's direction. Watch it after the break – and marvel at some truly breathtaking hair.

On April 7th, 2015, CD Projekt announced two major expansions for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, entitled Hearts of Stone and Blood and Wine. Hearts of Stone will be released in October 2015, while Blood and Wine is slated for release in the first quarter of 2016. CD Projekt RED says that both expansion packs will include: New enemies, Characters, and gear. Players will also be reunited with some "Dearly missed" characters from the series. Both expansions will be available on all three major platforms. Players can purchase both DLCs at once by getting the $25 expansion Pass, now on sale through several retailers.

Caught in a thick tangle of deceit, Geralt will need all his cunning and strength to solve the mystery and emerge unscathed.
Blood and WineEdit
Blood and Wine is a major expansion that will total at over 20 hours of additional content. tale that will introduce the all-new in-game region of Toussaint, will take Geralt to a land untainted by war, where an atmosphere of carefree indulgence and knightly ritual masks an ancient, bloody secret.
To celebrate the announcement of The Witcher 3: Witch Harder, CD Projekt Red has instituted a 50% off sale on previous Witchers on GOG and Steam. On GOG, The Witcher: Director's Cut is $5, and The Witcher 2: Enhanced Edition is $15 (both with extras) through Friday at 10:59am GMT.
On Steam, The Witcher is $5, and The Witcher 2 is $10, as is its Prima Guide. In addition, CDP has permanently dropped the MSRP of the Xbox version of The Witcher 2 to $29.99/€29.99/£19.99. Perhaps the company wants you to play these before the new one comes out.
CD Projekt Red seems to be backpedaling faster than Geralt fending off a bruxa, now declaring that The Witcher 3: The Wild Hunt may not be the final game in the series. In yesterday's announcement press release, studio head Adam Badowski made what seemed like a pretty definitive statement: "People may ask if this is really going to be the last Witcher game. Yes, it is. Why? Because we believe that we should end the series on a high note."
Eurogamer, however, recently updated its story on The Witcher 3 to say that what Badowski meant was that The Wild Hunt will be the last game in the current Witcher trilogy. Furthermore, CEO Adam Kicinski has stated that the "franchise will be continued."
We contacted CD Projekt Red for clarification on the issue. A spokesperson tells Joystiq, "The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt will wrap up the saga of Geralt of Rivia, but we do leave open the possibility of returning to the Witcher world." So there you have it, nothing can kill the Witcher, not even the monster of errant marketing.
Witcher 3: Wild Hunt confirmed for PS4 release in 2014
Witcher 3: Wild Hunt developer CD Projekt RED has confirmed that its open world RPG will hit PS4 in 2014, as well as other high-end consoles.
Speaking with Eurogamer, studio head Adam Badowski said, “We were thrilled when asked, several months ago, to be one of the developers who were granted early access to the PlayStation 4. It was an exciting moment to be invited to be in the company of other legendary developers like Bethesda, EA, LucasArts, Ubisoft or Activision as one of the teams working on titles shipping early in the PlayStation 4′s lifecycle.
“Of course, we couldn’t reveal any specifics about this to our fans, even though many journalists and forum members asked about when and how The Witcher might show up on Sony’s console. After yesterday’s PlayStation Meeting we can finally promise: The Witcher 3 is coming to the PlayStation 4.

The Polish developer said the open world role-playing game will launch simultaneously on all high end consoles, guaranteeing release on the next Xbox.

“The new hardware gives us the opportunity to create something great. We are able to work with the new console from its birth and this allows our in-house REDengine 3 to push the graphical limits of what the PlayStation hardware can display. The console is fresh and has some innovative solutions that we’re looking forward to using in our game.”
What do you make of that then?

New details regarding The Witcher 3: The Wild Hunt have emerged on the website of German magazine GameStar. The game will last for approximately 50 hours. Throughout those hours, the world can reach a total of 36 different states, depending on the player's choices. As previously revealed, these choices will also lead to one of three different epilogues.
The article also notes that The Witcher 3 may import save files from previous Witcher games. Developer CD Projekt Red tells Joystiq that it would like to implement such a feature, though the challenges presented by new hardware could make it difficult. Specifically, considering the game will debut on entirely new consoles, including the PS4 and presumably the next Xbox, such a transfer could be impossible. Still, the developer is looking into the possibility.

CD Projekt Red revealed that its open-world RPG The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is coming to the Xbox One.
The Xbox One version of the game is bolstered by unique hardware-driven features. Kinect voice commands for allow quick weapon-switching and magic, and players can use SmartGlass to customize their characters and manage their inventory.
CD Projekt RED has announced that The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt stormed its way through E3 – with an expo debut at Microsoft’s press conference and an incredibly positive reception from journalists during its behind-closed-doors presentations, The Witcher 3 managed to position itself as one of the top titles of the event.
“Humble as we are, we were amazed by the volume of positive feedback we received during E3. That’s why we would like to sincerely thank everyone for taking the time to watch the Gameplay Debut Trailer! We want to promise you one thing – The Witcher 3 will rock and we’re making it rock for you!” – said Adam Badowski, CD Projekt RED Studio Head.
During E3 2013, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt received countless nominations and 49 awards, including “Best Game of E3”, “Best RPG of E3” and “Editor’s Choice”, from gaming magazines and websites worldwide.
Gameplay producer Mark Ziemak from CD Projekt RED talks about showing off The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt and gauging fan reactions to the new RPG as well as staffing up at the studio to finish off the upcoming game.
In an exclusive interview with PlayStation Universe, Michał Krzemiński, Senior Art producer for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt at CD Project, talks about the evolution of the action-RPG series and what it was like working with the PlayStation 4.
This is the first time that The Witcher has appeared on a Sony console but Krzemiński says that they are experimenting with ways in which to bring gamers up to speed with Witcher lore, though he emphasises that this latest iteration will feature a standalone narrative to ensure that gamers do not have to be familiar with past titles.
Working with next-generation hardware has ensured that The Witcher 3 will look outstanding and Krzemiński says that he wants gamers to say ‘wow’ when they play this latest instalment and for that “‘wow' to stay with you throughout the whole experience”.
When probed about PlayStation 4 hardware, Krzemiński says that it’s a “dream come true when it comes to game development” as they haven’t had to think about hardware limitations and were simply able to unleash their creative firepower. Does The Witcher 3 max out the PS4, we asked?
“That’s a really tough question to answer”, says Krzemiński, “because you learn the system along the way and games that are developed at the end of a console’s life cycle are always better looking despite the hardware remains unchanged. And it’s not a thing specific to us, other studios are subject to this as well. Nonetheless, The Witcher 3’s visuals will blow you away.”
The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is due for release in 2014 on PC, Xbox One and PS4. A launch date has yet to be announced.
