HELSINKI (AFX) - Nokia Corp said it has sold globally 400,000 N-gage gaming devices during the first two weeks after it was launched on Oct 7.
Ilkka Raiskinen, Nokia Mobile Phones' senior vice president for multimedia and enterprise solutions, said the figure matches the company's expectations, but the geographical mix has been "somewhat surprising".

"There has been strong demand in Europe and Asia and especially Asian demand has been a positive surprise. The US market is highly competitive and we have to improve our sales figures there," Raiskinen told AFX News.

According to one survey, Nokia sold just 5,000 devices in the US during its first week, while its closest competitor Nintendo sold 540,000 versions of its GameBoy Advance.
