Ignition Entertainment, partnering with recent publisher BFF Marvelous Entertainment, has announced a new survival horror game for Xbox 360 called Deadly Premonition. The game is the second original work from Access Games, who created the PS2 stealth game Spy Fiction, and also codeveloped The Sky Crawlers and Ace Combat X.

The game stars an FBI agent investigating a murder in Silent Hill a rural town full of unexplained events, mysterious characters, and, apparently, dripping blood. It will feature exploration and driving in addition to fighting creepy Jawas. Ignition predicts an early 2010 release.

If this game looks familiar to you, you have a really good memory! It was announced back in 2007 as Rainy Woods, and was a multiplatform release at the time. It's now been renamed and targeted just at the 360.

Remember when budget games and Platinum Hits re-releases were $20? Now they’re $30 which means Deadly Premonition will be cheaper than a reprint of Street Fighter IV when it comes out next year.

Shane Bettenhausen, Director of Business Development at Ignition, said Deadly Premonition will be $19.99 on day one. (Thanks for the tip Jed!!) At that price Ignition should be able to pick up anyone remotely curious about the town of Rainy Woods.

Awful in nearly every way. The Twin Peaks meets Resident Evil with a dash of Grand Theft Auto formula sounds pretty great, but it was well beyond the capabilities of this development team. Terrible controls. Terrible pacing. Terrible sound effects. Terrible visuals. Maybe you can convince yourself that these things don't matter as you work through this surreal and quirky storyline. The rest of us will be off playing better videogames.

我都訂左, 見D評價好兩極化, 有人彈到一文不值, 有人承認gameplay的確做得差但故事/角色捧到上天
自己玩下最實際, 期待
唔知香港跟歐洲26號定跟美國30號, 外國已經有人話收到

Nier我都買左好耐但一路都未玩 就係聽到好多玩家好評先買

哩隻琴日終於有得攞, $290, 我唔知出面貨源充唔充足, 我剩係知我哩間只係入左一隻咁大把, 因為除左我就冇其他人買
所以如果真係有興趣可能要快手, 而且老細話因為當年出日文版Red Seeds Profile果時反應都好差, 我諗今次D舖頭更加謹慎
或者等下Play-Asia會唔會隔一排有特價, 好似之前隻二之國英文版咁初出時周圍都斷貨仲要炒, 依家隔左幾個月就減價

少量初步印象短評(無劇透)

玩左幾章, 好老實講佢真係一隻PS2 game黎, 無論畫面, 音效, 動作等等技術上各方面, 以current gen既標準完全冇可能合格, 例如一開始場景D山丘直情係立體尖角三角形, 松鼠叫聲又用馬騮sound bite (但我真係大笑左出黎 好多哩方面既野我覺得佢係特登搞笑), 動作比較硬板板
但事實佢上原本真係由一隻PS2 game開始, 所以依家我當佢係一隻PS2 HD remake黎玩都冇乜所謂
哩樣係第一樣要講既野, 因為如果各位自問唔能夠容忍技術上既缺點, 剩係玩頭五分鐘你已經完全反感, 就算隻game幾有內涵你都唔會有心情去發掘

內容方面, 實際我都只係玩左幾粒鐘, 仲係開頭部份, 但第一印象幾好, 撇除左技術上既缺憾, 個故事一開波就已經好吸引, 因為一開始就好多謎題, 你會想繼續玩落去睇下究竟發生緊乜野事。網上經常有玩家用電視劇Twin Peaks黎同隻game比較, 玩落個主題/精髓真係好相似, 尤其是果種懸疑/恐怖得黎但又有D怪雞既感覺, 如果鍾意哩類Cult片/主題不妨一試。不過我都唔敢保證劇情最終係咪一路都峰迴路轉咁精彩, 始終岩岩開始, 等我爆左機再update大家

題外話, 原來隻game係健力氏世界紀錄保持者 評價最兩極化遊戲
