見Joystiq同IGN都出咗Zoom for Kinect的Review,
IGN重比到上10分的Masterpiece。 但我見好多香港用戶都用「中伏」嚟形容佢的效果, 究竟係香港的地方真係太細,定係買了次貨/翻版, 點解個結果會差咁遠的… 我自己本身屋企多數係房打XBOX360, 但要玩KINECT GAME我通常都成SET嘢(TV+XBOX360+KINECT)搬出客廳玩, 因為會玩得盡興D,唔駛擔心出抽擊動作時會撞傷手(以住試過係房玩Wii SPORTS打中櫃邊,痛到咩咁…) 但如果呢件ZOOM係WORK的話, 我都想買嚟係房玩下AVATAR KINECT、Child of Eden呢D較靜態集中上半身活動的GAME。 但係以我玩KINECT GAME的經驗, 就算隻GAME本身對KINECT前後的距離要求不大, 但係對左右空間的需求仍然唔細, 因為佢個遊玩空間,唔係長方形,係梯形的。 簡單講,如果你一個人雙手伸展「大」字企之後, 如果你向左右各踏一步,手指尖已經碰撞到室內的物件, 到正式玩的時候,就算透過ZOOM周邊輔助縮短個距離, 應該仍然係玩唔到,或者玩得唔夠盡興的吧? 有無版友可以CAP張使用ZOOM周邊後KINECT掃瞄你全身的設定圖睇下, 即係微調KINECT時果張綠色"鬼影"骨架圖。 http://www.joystiq.com/2011/09/14/ny...rks/#continued Nyko Zoom for Kinect available now, works The Nyko Zoom is a lens attachment for the Xbox 360 Kinect that simply, snugly connects over the front of the device. The $30 peripheral, which is available now, makes it so that players can stand about 40 percent closer to the Kinect. In other words, it allowed those with cramped, furnished living spaces, like most of the Joystiq team, to get their Kinect on. If you don't need the Zoom for space-saving purposes, don't bother getting it. It won't help if you've already got ample area. It basically works by squishing and widening the playing field so, where a single-player game used to work optimally at about seven feet (nine feet for two players), it now functions well at four feet (six feet for two players). The playing field now ends at around eight feet with the Zoom, instead of ten feet without. Games we tested (Dance Central, Your Shape and Kinect Adventures) worked as intended with the lens on. An awkward side-effect of the lens is that it does create what appears like dead space around the perimeter of your feedback screen (viewable on the dashboard and in some games), but if your body moves into those spaces it will still be recognized. The Zoom also creates slight distortions in the player's silhouette; again, the system still recognizes bodies and creates the correct vector skeleton of the player, it's more an issue of just noticing that it "doesn't look right," instead of it actually affecting games. If you live in cramped quarters and the Nyko Zoom will let you properly play Kinect (or just avoid moving the furniture around to do so), the attachment is worth the investment. http://ie.gear.ign.com/articles/119/1193646p1.html Nyko Zoom for Kinect Review With this new sensor add-on, your days of moving furniture are over. The Kinect on my entertainment center is collecting dust. Not because of a waning interest on my part or a lack of compelling games to play, I simply don't want to endure the burden of rearranging my entire living room to use it. Call me lazy, but I'd rather not move my large couch out of view in order to engage in what is intended to be a fun, casual, and accessible experience. At E3, however, Nyko introduced a glimmer of hope for Kinect-fueled entertainment in my cramped San Francisco apartment: the Zoom. If you're unfamiliar with the Zoom, it's a simple plastic add-on that snaps onto your Kinect and through a series of integrated lenses shortens the distance required to get a full and accurate view of players by up to 40-percent. Such a simple solution to one of the Kinect's biggest shortcomings warrants skepticism – if it was so easy to minimize the required play space, why didn't Microsoft do it? After extensive testing, several clear tradeoffs became apparent. Adding the Zoom to your Kinect does indeed reduce the necessary distance between players and the sensor, all the while maintaining the accuracy and performance of the unassisted configuration. Users can effectively interact with the Kinect with as little as 4-feet of distance when playing solo or at a minimum of 6-feet with two players, as promised. Within the context of my apartment, which only has a distance of five or so feet between my entertainment center and couch, the reduced distance allows me to narrowly escape having to move my couch. While I still have to shift my coffee table, it's far less of an imposition. So what's the downside? At a minimum, the augmented lenses slightly warp the edges of photographs taken with the Kinect. The more significant impact, however, is the Zoom's limited range. Enhancing the Kinect lens to get a wider view makes it harder to accurately track players at longer distances. Of course, if you have room to play at a distance greater than 7 or 8 feet, why do you need a Zoom anyway? Still, it's worth noting that the device must be removed to work effectively at longer distances. For those like me though, who have a permanently limited play area at home, the Nyko Zoom is an add-on that will be a permanent installation. The build is on-par with the Kinect sensor itself, down to the shade of its glossy plastic frame, and installation is simple -- just slide it on and wait for it to click into place. Removal is equally simple. If you're tired of the hassle of shifting furniture to play Microsoft's controller-free gaming peripheral, you might want to consider picking one up. 10 Performance As accurate and responsive as the unassisted Kinect. 10 Ease of Use Snap-on and you're ready to go. 10 Value For those in need, the Zoom is invaluable. 10 OVERALL Masterpiece

Microsoft demonstrates Kinect-enabled shopping cart
by Richard Mitchell (9 hours ago) If you've dreamed of a day when your shopping cart could slowly stalk you, as you peruse the aisles at your local Whole Foods, Microsoft is one step ahead of you. The company recently demonstrated a prototype of a Kinect-enabled shopping cart. Employing a monitor, a motor and a Kinect sensor, the cart can recognize a membership card, pull up a customer's shopping list and scan objects as they are placed in the cart. What's more, the cart will dutifully follow a customer around the store. As demonstrated in the video above, the cart can even identify user preferences -- in this case, warning Microsoft's Aaron Greenberg that he picked up the wrong type of spaghetti (apparently he's going gluten free). Best of all, the cart allows customers to immediately pay for their purchases using a stored account, thus negating the need to stand in the checkout line (unless you want help bagging your groceries ... but you brought your own bags, right?). We're all for a future of hyper-intelligent (and hyper-expensive) shopping carts but, if said future doesn't include checkout lines, how will we keep up with the life and times of Angelina Jolie?
