LONDON, Nov 22 (Reuters) - Steve McClaren was sacked as England manager on Thursday following their failure to qualify for the European Championship finals next year.

McClaren took over the job after the World Cup last year but a 3-2 home defeat by Croatia on Wednesday settled their fate.

唯獨條後防線...都仲算可以.....(不計龍門..), 但今場又傷又停賽, 整定冇運行..

龍門都無須多講喇

英格蘭傳統都係打d高挑大棍波, 冇咩組織技術可言....靠速度身形食糊
雖然近年已經有d改變, 會打番下d地波咁, 不過同真正頂級0既球隊比, 都仲有段距離...
唔係話係咪B7的fans問題, 而係雖然佢本身都冇腳法, 速度又一般, 但佢果一腳波(罰球, 死球戰術, 角球等)真係世界級, lee點我相信冇人可以否認, 就算痛恨B7 的人都冇可能話佢lee腳波唔殺食. 英格蘭真真正正世界級0既武器可以話係得佢lee腳... 而今次外圍賽lee段日子亦都證實左lee件事....就算冇b7果幾場贏得精彩, 都係靠heskey 做二傳上晒身咁...但講到尾, 咪即係靠大腳大腳斬囉...

講到d球員點解球會時咁醒, 國家隊就唔掂...就係因為佢地0係球會都各自有超勁0既外援幫手...
好似謝拉特咁, 我唔係話佢唔好, 佢0既活力, 精神真係好勁, 世界頂級. 但0係利記有沙比, 有馬斯, 有班拿約幫佢分擔下, 前面又有托利斯. 林8又係, 後面有個艾辛, makelele幫佢撐腰, 前面有drogba幫佢拉空晒d位. 佢有乜辦法唔入咁多波呢? 就算Rooney, 打曼聯咁醒, 除左佢自己都ok外, 你睇下man u, C朗, Tevez等全部都係好波之人...

當佢地番到國家隊, 冇左班咁勁0既外援幫輕下, 咪現晒形囉. 唔係話佢地國家隊冇表現, 而係以佢地0既技術, 本來就係咁上下..
再加上默契不足, 咪一潭死水..

我會咁腸睇 .... 前鋒同龍門真係唔夠班之外, 中後場人腳係好夠 (唔傷計), 佢地係母會打得好, 係球會有一定既風格同隊型, 就算有調整, 都有時間去磨合 (利記例外 ... XD)

國家隊 D 陣 ... 就一時一樣, 練波又唔夠, 加上人人當自己係大牌, 邊會打得好... 加上打法同母會唔同, 就算都係隊友, 都係無火花啦... (林8 + 胡禮 + J.COLE +布列治, 謝 4 + 高佬)

Now that there is a comparison, Ericsson is way BETTER than McClaren as the manager for England. His style of soccer may be too defensive and boring, but this just FITS England.

我係英格蘭迷,
但我覺得英格蘭under 大力神時只係一班尾二班頭既球隊,
under死老麥就更加只係二班貨仔,
問題好大程度係佢地球員既技術好一般,
缺乏具創造力控球能力同能過關斬制做空位既球員,
而且大部份球員技術缺乏柔軟度,
射波只係一味勁band,
過人只係靠体能同速度加急停,
如果成隊term打得耐有默契重可以,
但係國家隊一年夾幾場就好唔掂

呢個唔係剩係領隊問題,
根本就係青訓問題

一路以黎Crouch D入波都係Beckam assist. 用Crouch唔用Beckam.

卡遜早幾日至debut. 一場咁重要嘅生死戰至黎俾個新仔full cap.

(當佢秘密武器乎?)

双特打防中. 一路以黎都唔work. (用唔掂) 咁重要嘅賽事又黎重覆犯錯.

整爛塊地等croatia D人冇得上脚, 但又出上脚多多嘅SWPs, 唔用Beckam打高波. 老麥究竟想掂??

結論: 好彩我唔係死硬England fans.....

You can't only judge a team only based on 'skill' or 'technique'

the strength of England rely on its 實力完整, 前中後人材X出.

They have good players in every positions. There's only lacking a playmaker and a good goalkeeper.

Speaking of 人脚的完整性, Only Italy, France and Holland are better than England.

If you look at Croatian team, yes, they have 3-4 excellent attacking players, BUT, if

you look at their defence, today they are still relying on 史米, Robert高華. 老弱殘兵

feel.... that's why i say as a team, croatia is just a 二線球隊.

最緊要係人地的基本功, 腳法, 真係好過英軍....英軍陣中冇乜邊幾個有創造力, 同埋冇乜邊幾個可以一個扭幾個咁....

現代足球講求傳送, 走位, one touch football~! 意大利就係當中表表者. 如果扭得波就代表嬴硬

的話相信上年冇一隊夠巴西踢.....

Villa manager O'Neill plays down England talk

Martin O'Neill has emerged as favourite to succeed Steve McClaren after he was sacked as England coach - but is insisting he is 'committed' to Aston Villa.
O'Neill has been made 7/4 favourite to take over after McClaren was shown the exit door after just 16 months in charge following a Football Association board meeting on Thursday morning.

But O'Neill took time out only hours before England's exit from Euro 2008 was confirmed by the home defeat by Croatia to claim reports linking him to the national post were 'absolute nonsense.'

The Northern Irishman, who was a candidate after Sven-Goran Eriksson's departure in the summer of 2006, was upset that he was supposedly 'keeping his door open' in case the FA approached him.

O'Neill said: 'It is absolute nonsense. I do not even remember saying it, to be perfectly honest.

'It is utterly pointless to talk about it. I am committed to Aston Villa. I cannot end speculation. I have had it for years and years and years, no matter what you say.

'I have a big commitment to Aston Villa. It is as simple as that.'

O'Neill also rubbished suggestions that his trip to America to see club owner Randy Lerner last week was to finalise his departure from Villa should the England job become vacant.

He said: 'I went to America to see Randy Lerner on Aston Villa business and Aston Villa business alone. It's absolute nonsense for someone to suggest otherwise.'

Whether O'Neill is less forthright in his commitment to Villa should McClaren be sacked remains to be seen.

Lerner has already indicated he will not stand in O'Neill's way if he gets the opportunity to become McClaren's successor.

Former Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho is 7/2 with Portuguese coach Luiz Felipe Scolari 5/1 and Russia coach Guus Hiddink 6/1.
