Wedbush: If the 360 doesn't do super awesome, the PS3 might not be released until '07

We disagree with management views about hardware pricing, and think that a hardware price cut could spur software sales. We expect Sony to continue to sell the redesigned PlayStation 2 for $149 until supply and demand are in balance, and then to cut the price to as low as $99 in front of the Xbox 360 launch. It is our belief that the redesigned PS2 carries a manufacturing cost of less than $99, and we believe that Sony suffered the ignominy of being unable to satisfy holiday demand in order to increase its gross profits over the short term.

We believe that the company will attempt to disrupt the Xbox 360 launch with a price cut, and as a result may succeed in diverting attention away from the higher priced next generation console. We expect the Microsoft to attempt to engineer the Xbox 360 to be compatible with the current generation Xbox, and as a result, believe that Microsoft will maintain $149 pricing for its money-losing hardware.

PS2激瘦版會再減價都有可能

但係就算PS2再平
我都唔覺得有能力可以任Xbox360玩一年而唔影響將來PS3地盤......

The Dreamcast with a older GPU design destroys the GS in the PS2 when it comes to features. The GS is a very simple rendering part. Sony bragged so much about how many pixels they can push, but never talked about the quality of the pixels being pushed." - Edge
