Ubisoft today announced that Rayman Legends is to be published by Nintendo in Japan. In the midst of the announcement, Geoffroy Sardin, EMEA VP of Sales and Marketing at Ubisoft commented: “We are delighted to have our promising Rayman Legends published by Nintendo in Japan. Rayman’s innovative take on the platforming genre has already seduced millions of gamers across the globe with last year’s Rayman Origins. We are very glad that its successor will benefit from Nintendo’s unrivaled experience of the Japanese market.”
In addition, the Rayman Legends demo was released on the Nintendo eShop for Wii U across the globe overnight. You can download the demo (which has a 30-use limit) by heading over to the Nintendo eShop on your Wii U.

It’s frustrating for us Brits to sit back and watch as American gamers discover the delights of the Wii U while we still have to wait another week for it. It’s even more frustrating, then, when we see one of these fortunate Americans take a Wii U and microwave it.
Apparently the chap in question, Kenny Irwin, is a “professional microwaver” and host of “the first and original ongoing microwaving entertainment show on YouTube and the web”. He’s microwaved over 640 different non-foody things, so don’t take this Wii U stunt as a personal dig at Nintendo, he’s just mad.
After microwaving the Wii U and filming it for his YouTube show, dOvetastic Microwave Theater, Mr. Irwin didn’t stop there. Instead, his mask of sanity slipped a littler further as he decided to stick an eyeball on the ruined GamePad screen, then sell it on eBay.
Amazingly, it seems some people are into this, because Kenny’s ridiculous “creation” is currently going for $3,490.03 with six bids made. Maybe it’s the fact that he’s also thrown in a “Wasp Toad full of Wasp sheddings and an Eyeball Toad full of Toad Eyeballs you will cherish, enjoy and admire for generations to come”.
He sounds like a delightful chap. We’d love to have him over for dinner… though naturally, the microwave would be out of bounds.
