Strike Suit Zero announced by doublesix games

Burn Zombie Burn studio doublesix games, has announced Strike Suit Zero which is a new deep space, arcade shooter.

The game includes ships designed by Mechanical Design engineer Junji Okubo who did work on Steel Battalion, and it includes “gigantic capital ships, sleek alien craft and deadly Strike Suits that transform between fighter and robotic warrior at the touch of a button.” The game also featured zero gravity vehicular combat, a branching-mission structure, all set to a music from Homeworld sound designer Paul Ruskay.
“Strike Suit Zero is inspired by the classic space combat games we all love,” said Jim Mummery, creative director at doublesix games. “But our game goes further – it takes that inspiration, pumps up the pace and injects a massive sense of urgency to excite and challenge the player.”
Here’s the story blurb:

Strike Suit Zero is an action-packed arcade game set in the final hours of a future Earth. The clock is ticking; your planet is about to be destroyed and its only hope is the Strike Suit; an advanced, transforming spacecraft that empowers the player with ludicrous firepower and awesome abilities. Every second is precious; you’ll be forced to fight with fury, choose targets on instinct and make snap decisions that will not only affect the outcome of your mission but your path through the game and the ultimate destiny of seven billion lives.

Sounds cool. Isn’t it everyone’s dream to turn into a giant robot and cause even mayhem? Maybe it’s just us.
Strike Suit Zero will be digitally released on the PC and game consoles in early 2012.

Announcing Strike Suit Zero: Director’s Cut

Hear that sound? It’s the news horn! Which means we have some big news to share.

Today we’ve announced Strike Suit Zero: Director’s Cut, which will be heading to both the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One in March (£14.99 / $19.99). The Director’s Cut version of the game not only takes advantage of the power of the next-gen consoles, but adds a host of other additions and improvements, making this the definitive version of the game. Later this Spring, we’ll be following this up with a version of the game for PC, a platform that is very much considered a home by space combat fans. We’ll keep you updated with any developments relating to the PC version as they happen.

The Director’s Cut features a restructured campaign – particularly relating to the first few missions, allowing the player to get in the cockpit of the Strike Suit much earlier – with an adapted story and all new dialogue. We’ve also given the game a complete graphical overhaul, including upscaled ships and updated textures and lighting. We’ve also included the Heroes of the Fleet mission pack, and both the Marauder and Raptor Strike Suits. We’ve taken a year’s worth of comments and suggestions on board, too, directly addressing the points of our community and critics.

A director's cut of Strike Suit Zero will be released for PlayStation 4 sometime this month.

Strike Suit Zero: Director's Cut - Announcement Trailer

Strike Suit Zero: Director's Cut is an update of the original space dogfighter, including revamped lighting, graphics and textures; and two additional Strike Suits: the Marauder and the Raptor. The Director's Cut will also include previously released DLC, including the Heroes of the Fleet campaign.
The original Strike Suit Zero was released for PC January 23, 2013 and Mac and Linux on August 9, 2013. The Director's Cut is also slated for the Xbox One and PC, but no release date has been announced. Born Ready Games' community manager, Jamin Smith, talks more about the new additions to Strike Suit Zero below.
