You can buy and rent property. The game follows a man name John and he has to kill his ex-partners in crime. This is a Rockstar game with a open world feel, so you only need one play-through and after get all the other trophies you missed. After you complete the game you can play back and mission, if you want. This game has less missions then GTA IV, but the missions are longer, the world is bigger. You can get drunk in the game, the game is full of mini games. This is a well rounded game. Step 1 - The Story- Play the game and don’t worry about the trophies most of them are story related and will come while playing through the game. I would advise that you don’t change your horse until you get the Spurred to victory trophy after your 20-21st story based mission. Just play to have fun. Try to stick with one of each weapon type to get the kill trophies, use the trophy Guide to find out which weapon goes with each trophy. Step 2 - Offline Extra Trophies- This is after you have completed the game and are ready to tackle the extra offline trophies. This time you go for the killing one of each animal (Use the trophy guide to find each animal). Get the fame and honor rank up, getting your wanted level up and use a pardon letter. This is when you go out and get rid of all the trophies that slow you done from having fun in single player. If you didn’t get the weapon kill trophies yet, You can get some kill here. Step 3 - Multiplayer The first thing you do is kill some in multiplayer is to get the Red Dead Rockstar Trophy, if you didn’t play online during their social events and killed one of the Rockstar developers. Use the Trophy boosting thread here to get the other online trophies, after you have all that go to Blackwater then to Escalera before sundown for the Hit the Trail trophy can be done in a posse. If you still dint get the weapon kill trophies, this is the best time since there is more enemies to kill online. Step 4 - If you are still missing weapons kill trophies, Go Back to single player and Play each mission over. ■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■  High Roller: 10GWin over 2000 chips in a hand of Poker. Before you attempt this you will want to buy the Elegant suit at a tailor shop in Thieves' Landing. This will increase your ability to cheat and be successful in winning. You have two ways to earn this achievement, you can either play the high stakes poker located in the north, or you can go all in twice in a game of poker in Mexico. While completing missions for Landon Ricketts you will come across a sub-chapter called "Lucky in Love". You will start out with 1,000 chips, place a high bet of 1,000 chips and go on all in. You should win, you will then need to placed another bet of 1,000 chips and go all in. Your final pot will be 2,000+ chips, then the story continues. This games is rigged so you can't loose due to it being story related. If by some odd chance you loose release your checkpoint and try again. You will find poker games in the following locations: * Armadillo * Blackwater * Casa Madrugada * Chuparosa * MacFarline's Ranch * Thieves' Landing  Poker guidefrom Atroxx70 So it seems that some people here have never played poker before, so I figured I'd write a little guide to help you get started. This is meant as a basic rules primer and not a comprehensive strategy tutorial. Getting started Anyhow here's a basic run down: The dealer deals out two cards to everybody. Before you look at the cards, the two people to the left of the deal have to place a minimum bet, called a blind. The person to the direct left of the dealer is called the "small blind" his minimum bet is half of the person to his direct left, called the "big blind". Once the blinds are put in, players are allowed to look at their cards and play continues to the left of the big blind. At this point in order to stay in the game, you either have to match the big blind, or raise a higher bet. Everyone must match the new bet or "fold", which basically means that they know they can't win so they cut their losses and sit out until next hand. What do I do on my turn? When the bet comes around to you, you will have the chance to "check"(which means there hasn't been a raise yet, and you choose to let it ride at zero), "call"(which means someone else raised the pot and you need to match it), "raise"(pretty self explanatory, you raise the pot), or fold if you don't think you can win. Play continues to the left until everyone has a turn and everyone has either matched the minimum bet or folded. Playing the game After the first round of betting is over, the dealer will deal out 3 more cards, called the "flop", face up in the middle of the table. One more round of betting, then one more card face up called the "turn". Another round of bets and then the final card face up, known as the "river", and then one final round of betting before everyone shows their cards. How to win The goal is to take the two cards you have, plus any 3 face up cards, and make the best possible hand that you can make. The strategy of the game comes from trying to trick your opponent into believing you have a better hand than he does. If you can make him fold his hand, you win regardless of who actually had the better hand. There are lots of strategies on bluffing and whatnot, but they are outside of the scope of this guide and more or less do not apply to Red Dead Redemption. The following is a list of possible hands in order from best to worst, along with an explanation of what it takes to make each hand and an example of each one: Straight Flush: 5 cards of the same suit in sequence, example A,2,3,4,5 of Spades, or 7,8,9,10,J of hearts. If more than one player has a straight flush, the one who has the higher high card wins. Four of a Kind: pretty self explanatory, 4 of the same card. Example, 4 Kings, 4 10's, etc. Full House: 3 of a kind and a pair. Example: 2 King's and 3 Queens, 2 10's and 3 Aces, etc. Flush: 5 cards of the same suit. Example 5 Hearts, 5 Clubs, etc. If more than one person makes the Flush, the one with the highest card wins. Straight: any 5 cards in sequence and of different suits. Example 5 of hearts, 6 of clubs, 7 of diamonds, 8 of spades, 9 of hearts. Three of a kind: any three of the same card. Example, 3 3's, 3 7's, 3 kings, etc. If more than one person hits Three of a Kind, the one with the higher set wins. Two Pair: 2 sets of a pair of cards. Example, 2 4' and 2 5's, 2 kings and 2 jacks, etc. Pair: any 2 of the same card. Example, 2 aces, 2 10's, etc. If no one at the table makes any of the hands listed, then the winner is determined by who has the highest card. No Dice: 10GComplete a game of Liar's Dice without losing a single die. This mini-game is based off of pure luck. The whole point is to guess how many of the same die faces have the same number when revealed. The best way to tackle the game is to place honest bets on your own dice. Follow the in-game tutorial and play several games to get the hang of how the game works. If the AI numbers seem honest, such as two low number dice faces, it could be correct. This isn't always true but it does seem to be a running pattern. Holding onto all five of your dice is very difficulty in a game of chance so keep at it until you knock the AI out of the game. You will find Liar's Dice in the following locations: * Thieves' Landing * Casa Madrugada * Escalera  What About Hand Grenades?: 10GGet a ringer in a game of Horseshoes. Winning a game of horseshoes will require some patience as you line up your shots. Take your time and aim carefully, use the to aim your throw, then pull and push the to build up speed. You will want to land a green power bar between the two markers. This will take a lot of patience unless you get lucky within your first few tries. You will find a game of Horseshoes in the following locations: * Las Hermanas * MacFarlane's Ranch * Tathskeller Fork  Austin Overpowered: 25GComplete Twin Rocks, Pike's Basin, and Gaptooth Breach Hideouts in Single Player. Completing the following hideouts will unlock this achievement. Twin Rocks Hideout: Requirement: New Friends, Old Problems Objective: Kill the Walton Gang Reward: Volcanic Pistol Pike's Basin Hideout: Requirement: Justice in Pike's Basin Objective: Kill the Bollard Gang Reward: Sawed-off Shotgun Gaptooth Breach Hideout: Requirement: Man is Born Unto Trouble Objective: Rescue Floyd Reward: Springfield Rife See "Instinto Asesino"  Evil Spirits: 25GComplete Tumbleweed and Tesoro Azul Hideouts in Single Player. Completing the following hideouts will unlock this achievement. Tumbleweed Hideout: Requirement: New Friends, Old Problems Objective: Kill the Criminals Reward: Winchester Repeater Tesoro Azul Hideout: Requirement: The Demon Drink Objective: Kill the Criminals Reward: Double Action Revolver See "Instinto Asesino"  Instinto Asesino: 25GComplete Fort Mercer and Nosalida Hideouts in Single Player. There are a total of seven different hideouts located around New Austin and Mexico. You will need to make your way to each hideout after completing a set story mission requirement, then complete the objectives provided. If you turn up and there's no one to talk to or an objective surrounding the hideout, you haven't completed the criteria to start that side mission. Completing the following hideouts will unlock this achievement. Fort Mercer Hideout: Requirement: We Shall Be Together in Paradise Objective: Kill the Criminals Reward: Semi-automatic Pistol Nosalida Hideout: Requirement: We Shall Be Together in Paradise Objective: Burn down the hideout Reward: Heavy Repeater Hideouts Location Map  Fightin' Around the World: 5GKnock someone out in melee in every saloon in the game in Single Player. Strangers Map Buckin' Awesome: 10GBreak the Kentucky Saddler, the American Standardbred, and the Hungarian Half-bred. You will need a lasso, which you get from Bonnie in your sixth mission for her. The Locations are: Kentucky Saddler is a Golden yellow Horse-- Is by Macfarlane's Ranch in New Austin American Standerdbred is a all black horse--- Is located in Beecher's Hope in west Elizabeth Hungarian Half Bred is a white horse with a dark face- is located between Escalera and Punta Orugullo in Mexico GuideKentucky Saddler (Golden Pearl with Blonde Tail) - Unmissable.
Acquired during the Wild Horses, Tamed Passions mission. (Bonnie MacFarlane's fourth) Hungarian Half-bred (Completely White with a Grey nose.) - Easily acquired in the Mexican Desert where the horses are marked on the large map in-game [Central Diez Coronas]. (In my experience, I was on the first leg of Love is the Opiate and headed through the canyon valley from El Matadero, hugging the western wall and ran into one. At first, the horses were both brown and then one turned white. Unsure if this was due to the side-quest or not, though.) American Standardbred (Completely Black, Hard to miss in the snow.) - Whilst hunting bears South of Nikoti Rock [Tall Trees], I encountered one. You can play Liar's Dice and make 200 a game if you win and get 5000-6000 an hour. Better to play at night in game due to less people in the game. Go to Redeemed trophy for more Details Find all 9 Maps will land you a Frontiersman TrophyHidden Treasure 1: Rhodes’ Gold Your first treasure map should come as the result of a random encounter, in which you save a stranger form a group of bandits attacking his wagon. The subsequent maps for the treasure hunter challenge are located inside each successive treasure chest. Rhodes’ Gold is located at Hanging Rock, north of Armadillo in Cholla Springs. The chest can be found at base of the largest boulder, under a pile of rocks in a narrow area, which can be reached by exploring the north side of Hanging Rock and following the narrow path such exploration reveals. Hidden Treasure 2: Jackson’s Gold Located just east of Rio Bravo near the Rio Del Lobo, at a location called “Del Lobo Rock.” Find the gap in the rocks at the top of the cliff indicated on the treasure map, and save your game (in case you fall down to the riverbed). Move through the gap and head to the right, then switch back to the left and hug the cliff face until you can drop down into the shadow of the bulbous outcropping. Consult the map for a depiction of this route. The treasure can be found on small ledge. Hidden Treasure 3: Calhoun’s Gold Located int the basement of the old mansion in Tumbleweed. Enter using the back cellar entrance on the west side, and walk straight until you hit the basement wall. The treasure can be found below a mounted bull skull on the wall Hidden Treasure 4: Tubman’s Gold Travel towards the San Luis River, starting from the Tree of Skulls. The area is just north of Chuparosa. Proceed until you reach the second stone wall; the treasure is on the river side of it. Hidden Treasure 5: Brown’s Gold Located on top of the rock spires in Crooked Toes, in Punta Orgullo just east of Escalera. Proceed past the small cave with the chest and climb to the top of the spire, using a jump->hang->climb manuever. Hidden Treasure 6: Douglass’ Gold Located at the Ojo Del Diablo, South of Chuparosa. The treasure is on the west side of the arch. Hidden Treasure 7: Garrison’s Gold Found northeast of Agave Viejo. northeast of Roca de Madera. The stool-shaped rock in the first two treasure map illustrations is just off the main road leading northwest from Casa Madrugada, just above the armadillo on the main map. From the stool-shaped rock, look southwest and you should see a path that begins just above some rock spires. Follow it to its end to find Garrison’s Gold. Hidden Treasure 8: Pickett’s Gold Located due east of the ranch at Beecher’s Hope. near a large tree split by a lightning strike. The treasure is buried in a gap in the stone fence north of the tree. Hidden Treasure 9: Stonewall’s Gold North of Manzanita Post is a small, snow-covered horse path. Follow it until you reach a plateau and then explore the north side of the plateau until you find a cave. Simply press start, then go to options. In options choose configure and set to Expert. Don't need both modes on expert, just single player. You can also get it while using Dead Eye by pressing the Right Thumb-stick down.  Man of Honor / Chivalry's Dead: 25GAttain highest Fame rank and either highest Honor rank or lowest Honor rank. You have to have both of these at the same time. This will come easier later on in the game. Fame will come with story missions, and side missions and Honor too. Fame will always go up, But with Honor its how you choose to go about things will either Decrease or Improve your Honor. You will fill up your you honer bar faster and before you fill you fame bar, well before the game is over.  Gold Medal: 25GEarn a Gold Medal Rank for a combat mission in Single Player. This is based on Time, shooting accuracy, Head shots or other things. Time and accuracy will always be the main ones. You can all play a mission over if you don’t get it during the first playthrough. Replay the mission "old swindler blues" OK stay on the path, use dead aim on all 4 enemy and get headshots without missing any shots! Also try for under 2 minutes. Very easy to do IMO. Hope that helped at least 1 person.  On the Trail of de Vaca: 10GUncover every location on the map in Single Player. This trophy will pop up after you seen every location in the frontier. There are 94 Different locations in Red dead Redemption. 17 Areas in West Elizabeth 32 Areas in Neuvo Parasdiso 45 Areas in New Austin. Map of all locations  Friends in High Places: 10GBuild up your bounty to get up to 5000 and Make sure you have a pardon letter already. Kill Law Enforcers and people still Horses.  Redeemed: 100GAttain 100% in the Single Player Game Completion stat. Press start on and to Stats to see how close you are to 100% or Check the social club Site to see your stats. Lives in a cave at the top of a mountain, Northeast of the Aurora Basin lake. I found him along the east shore of the lake by using bait. -"Gordo" the Boar (3): Found in the Stillwater Creek area south of Thieves' Landing. -"Brumas" the Bear (4): Found in the Nekoti Rock area. I found him at almost the very top of the mountain. Challenges GuideRed Dead Redemption 100% Completion RequirementsSharpshooter Challenge - Rank 10 Sharpshooter Ambient Challenge - Rank 10 Disarm any 6 enemies without reloading or changing weapons. 1) Make sure to hold down 'Target/Zoom' (LT for xbox 360) so that you don't automatically reload your gun at any point. 2) After using Dead Eye, your weapon may reload your ammo, but it SHOULD still count. If you want to be sure, you can use up all the ammo you have except however many a clip can hold. (i.e. Mauser Pistol can hold 15 bullets per clip, you can use up all the bullets you have currently except 15) 3) Use left or right on the d-pad to change the camera position. 100% unlocked the Bureau outfit which makes it so you can't get in trouble by the law for anything you do including murder.  Mowing Them Down: 20GKill 500 enemies with a mounted weapon in any game mode. Find a mount weapon and shoot enemies. The Mounted weapons are GATLING Gun, Maxim Gun, and the Cannon. You can always play missions over. To go back to play a mission press start - Stats - Missions and then choose the one you want to play. I would recommend The Mission and you will know the truth, since you start off with a Gatling Gun "Mowing Them Down" - Known issues & solutionsfrom Cable Player Hi guys, I realise this may have been posted a couple of times before, but I would like to explain to you and warn you of some issues with this achievement, and how to work you way around them. For a detailed explanation on the glitch and how to avoid it, see the "Summary" at the end. The achievement is: "Mowing Them Down - Kill 500 Enemies with a mounted weapon in any mode - 20 G Seeing as you cannot re-play story missions, to get this achievement, you must do it during a single player/public/private free roam. (Any kills you get whilst re-doing levels do not count towards the statistic.) There are known issues with the "Browning machine gun." Any kills with this weapon do not count towards your 500 kills. However, carry on reading and I can easily explain how to sort this problem. On the Social Club, Rockstar hint that you should head to this location. This would suggest that the achievement is glitched, rather than deliberatley avoiding the Brownin Machine Gun. Head over to "El Matadero" (South) Eastern Mexico. There is a Browning machine gun on top of a small building, just infront of the stable. Use this machine gun to get 500 kills. The easiest way is to do it in a Private free-roam with (as many friends) as possible to help you. Just stay on the roof and let your friends protect behind the house, as the Browning gun cannot aim there, but the police will be able to shoot you. Have your friends help thin-out the amount of police. If you are firing in one direction and there are police shooting your back, have your friends take them out quickly! (As to who they kill is entirley down to stategy. Talk between yourselves in your party and find the best method of not dying but still getting a respectable amount of kills with the Browning machine gun) Once you have hit 500, (Check under the pause menu\Stats\Combat), head over to "El Presidio" which is marked on the map with a cannon (North) East Mexico. Simply obtain a wanted level and use the Gattling gun/ Cannon on the main gate, (this is the easiest to get a kill with as the police have to run through the gate below you) Once you get the kill, the game will realise you have 500+ kills and the achievement will unlock! Mowing Them Down - Kill 500 Enemies with a mounted weapon in any mode - 20 G On a foot-note, alternativley you could head to El Presidio and use the gattling gun/ cannon on the main gate. However, my personal experiance suggests that heading to El Matedero is faster for kills, and as long as you have a friend protecting you, you should only take roughly 50 minutes to get all 500 kills. Summary: * The Browning machine gun is glitched. * If you get 500 Kills with the Browning machine gun, the achievement will not unlock. * To fix this, simply get another kill with either the cannon or gattling gun. * If you have X amount of kills in Single-player and Y amount of kills in multi-player, these do not add up. You must have 500 kills in one of these game-types. * From my own personal experiance, "El Matedero" is the easiest location to get the fastest amount of kills. You just need a buddy to protect you from those who you physically cannot shoot with the Browning. * "El Presidio" is a lot safer, but may not neceserily be so quick. Remember - as long as you have a friend who is protecting you, "El Matedero" is perfectly fine. I would certainly suggest going to "El Presidio" if you are solo'ing this though. To do this go into the multiplayer menu and go into "join public session." From there push SELECT and go down to Free for All. Enter the game and win three times in a row. There are three different game types in FFA and they are Gold Rush, Shootout and StandoffGold Rush - In this game type you will need to capture bags of gold and bring them to chests scattered throughout the map. Kills don't matter in this game type so try to focus on the gold and not kills. God for the gold closest to you as soon as you spawn. You want to get the lead early. To pick up a bag press TRIANGLE when overtop of it. When the bag is in your hand run it to the nearest chest to you. When you have a bag in your hand the chests will be an orange dot on your map. You can pick up multiple bags at one time but remember you are more vunerable as you run slower. Get the most bags by the end of the game and you will win. Shootout - This is your standard FFA Deathmatch. The key to this game is knowing where the weapon spawns are. It's doesn't matter if you are an amazing shooter, if you are out gunned you will most likely die. Pistols are better if you have a quick trigger finger as you can kill a person in about a round depending on the pistol. If your trigger finger isn't so great use a longer range, more accurate rifle and try to go for headshots either way will net you a lot of kills. Have the most kills by the end of the game and you will win. Standoff - This game is the one that requires the least skill and will most likely make it much harder for you to get three wins in a row. In this game the players in your lobby will stand in a circle with just their pistols. The point of the game is to not die. There is time before the game starts for you to aim at an opponents head so you should take this opportunity. If someone is aiming at your head there is really nothing you can do. Dive rolls don't work so you just need to hope that noone aims at you. If you survive the mayhem you will win the game.  How the West Was Won: 20GReach the top rank for multiplayer experience. You can play in a private match and still Get Exp, But none of the other trophies.  Go Team!: 20GBe on the winning team for four consecutive victories in any team based game in public matches.  Most Wanted: 10GBecome a Public Enemy for 10 minutes and escape alive in a public Free Roam session. GuideAll of these can be done in one place and solo. First, Friends in High Places needs to be in Single Player. The spot is the Armadillo Saloon. 1. Go upstairs, where you rent a room. This balcony (inside the bar) is where you'll hold down the fort. Make sure to have full ammo and your best rifle. Some health tonic can be useful too. 2. Shoot into the bar and cause a ruckus. That'll get the law on your tail. Clean out the bar by shooting from above only and using your pistol or shotgun. 3. The lawmen will be slightly confused since you're on the top floor. They won't rush you but they will infinitely spawn, allowing you to juice up the bounty on yourself. 4. Learning the positions of the red dots and using the cover of the second floor will keep you safe. 5. After you get to about $4,900, it's time to leave. Whistle for your horse while your upstairs. Shoot some guys on your way out to push the bounty and book it to the train tracks as it arrives. Outrun the guys until the red in "WANTED" has faded. Use elevation to lose them. 6. Return to Armadillo and use the pardon letter at the train station to get it erased. 7. Achievement Pop! If you die, the bounty will go down slightly but you can just go back and pick up where you left off. The more you kill, the faster this will go so don't just sit up there and wait for people to come. Points of Interest (this is where the lawmen usually camp): * One lawmen will always be by the front door. Shooting him, using the cover from the bannisters, will cause another guy to run there. Rinse and repeat when that spot is full. * Some try to run behind the bar using either the front door or back door. * Some spawn behind the train tracks. Using a rifle and poking your head out ever so often to gun 'em down is alright. Just run in if you take damage. * Some run inside the train station. They have a good shot of you if you're outside so be careful. * Some camp down the road and across the street. Only shoot outside of the bar when you have full health and use the cover on the rails. * Lastly, very rarely, does a guy take the back stairs to the saloon and charge at you right on the banister. Easy to tell if this is about to happen- the red dots of the lawmen MUST HAVE THE DOWN ARROW. The lawmen behind the train tracks will always be solid red w/ white star because they're on your level but too far to do anything. But if the red dot is close and has no arrow, they're coming up to get you. Put in some shotgun or pistol work. Now for the Free Roam achievement and challeneges, use the same tactic. A friend might be able to help but it's pretty cake otherwise. or Alright, here's a 2nd way to go about this. With a friend or solo. * Go to McCutchen (sp?) Farm and head over to the big barn. * Go upstairs and this is where you'll hunker down. * Take note of the entrances to the place. Two doors, front and back. Two big open windows face the outside but leave you open to fire from the outside AND from certain angles if lawmen make it inside. * The window facing Bessie's farm will be your exit. With a friend: Take turns with this achievement. The guy going for it should get most of the kills first and is propped up on the third floor. From this vantage, you're covering the back of the barn, out of the window, and the only ladder up. When you make $1,000, don't do too much. Allow your partner to cover you and just hang back in the rafters. If your wanted level starts dropping, fire a shot down to get it back up but stay out of the line of fire and continue watching the only ladder up. When your ten minutes are up, you'll have to clear out the few guys in the front of the barn and then exit out of the window, Making your way out on the slanted roof, you turn left and dash over to the horse stable. Jump down to the roof and whistle for your horse. When it comes, hall tail and outrun the stragglers. The guy covering should stay on the second floor of the barn, gunning down everyone on the first floor. It doesn't matter if you get killed- you are a diversion. Keep the heat off and the fire on you. When your friend's time is ready, run out to the front of the barn and pave a path for him to climb out to the stable and call his horse. As he gets away, don't follow. Just hold up in the barn and then switch when your partner gets it. This right here works better than most of the things I've tried because even if random people jump into your game, you're still in a hard to reach area. And as long as you both take turns, they'll always be a "blocker" and a "runner". Just don't forget to return the favor. This works alone as well, but with people coming to spoil it, you might have a hard time getting away. Stay inside the barn and cover the ladder and try to stay away from the windows to avoid snipers.
