索尼公布頭戴AR設備Project Morpheus

索 尼剛剛在 2014 年 GDC 遊戲者開發大會上如期公布了 PlayStation 專用虛擬現實設備，名為 Project Morpheus。Project Morpheus 是一款頭戴式虛擬現實外設，為玩家提供 1080P，90°視角的沉浸式體驗。Morpheus 目前的產品是一款有線產品，當前只能搭配 PS4 使用，索尼表示未來將會推出無線連接的版本。
Morpheus 來源於希臘傳說中睡神的名字，同時也是《黑客帝國》中反抗母體控制的人類基地首領。
在 大會現場，吉田修平播放了一段以頭戴顯示器 HMZ（這是一款不具備完整 AR 功能的頭戴式顯示器）搭配 PS Move 用第一人稱玩《戰神》的演示，而明天參加者即可在 GDC 遊戲開發者大會 PlayStation 展台正式試玩 Project Morpheus，更具體的情報也要在之後公布。
索尼並沒有提及 Morpheus 的屏幕材質（它的競爭對手 Oculus Rift 使用的是 OLED 顯示技術）。

PlayStation 4 VR to be Compatible with Online and Local Multiplayer

Sony has confirmed that its newly-announced Project Morpheus virtual reality (VR) headset will feature support for both online and local multiplayer titles. Unfortunately, the company did not have any examples of titles that might use the device with such modes. The company’s Anton Mikhailov took to the stage at Sony’s Driving the Future of Innovation presentation at GDC 2014 to confirm that “Online and local mulitplayer will be included in Sony Computer Entertainment’s VR plans.”

Unfortunately, the company did not have any examples of titles that might use the device with such modes. It was later confirmed that only a single headset will run on the PS4 at any one time, but it was suggested that one player can be using the television while another uses the VR headset for a competitive multiplayer experience. Perhaps this could also translate to a Wii U-like second screen application for videogames?
Multiplayer compatibility will hopefully help the devices chances of being integrated into titles like Call of Duty and Battlefield. VRFocus will track the progress of the headset and any possible multiplayer titles and report back with the latest.
